Gourdin (Gen. Edward O.) Park is created.

Named for the first African-American general in the Massachusetts National Guard, it is located at 2405 Washington Street. The park features a series of 10 bas reliefs honoring African-American military heroes. A groundbreaking ceremony was held on October 7, 2021.
